Our Curriculum |
|
The curriculum has been prepared with great concern so that each student's potential is realized. It does not burden the child; rather it makes learning enjoyable. It is based on the NCERT guidelines and students are prepared for CBSE examination. Each child is considered to be unique and the commitment is to give a creative environment that is activity based and is close to real life. Emphasis is on observation and experimentation with the use of medium and techniques that children enjoy. The approach is to equip the students with the right tools to acquire knowledge and not simply to stuff them with information. |

Classrooms |
|
Activity-based teaching is the basis of the academic methodology at Shri Sai Academy. The learning milieu is fostered by an approach to draw a link with real life and to provide practical experience. The focus of learning outcomes is to promote understanding of concepts and is skill-based. The activity-based method, therefore, weaves into its fold, ample scope for projects, experiments and 'handson work' that develops the faculties of reasoning and application. Extensive use is made of audio-visual techniques, computer-aided learning, visual aids, charts, models, games, role plays, theatre, art, LCD's, OHP's, worksheets etc. to stimulate the learning process and make it more significant.
The curriculum is imparted using lateral thinking strategies, where the child discovers the joy of learning and realizes his/her own potential. This also facilitates a more comprehensive and holistic evaluation of the child. Rote learning, thus, has no place in the Shri Sai Academy classroom and students are encouraged to use of variety of sources such as the Internet and Encyclopedias to enrich their knowledge. |

Discipline |
|
The school believes in a policy of self-discipline and corporal punishment is strictly forbidden. Positive reinforcement helps to raise the self-awareness of the child of his/her own rights and corresponding responsibilities.Students are expected to abide by the ethos of the school and be tolerant of each of its members. The school places a lot of importance on the values of respect, cooperation, courtesy and consideration in tune with our overall philosophy.
However, the school also takes a serious view on bullying and any kind of physical mistreatment. Damage of school property, violations on dress code and infringement of rules as outlined by the school are not condoned. Discipline is necessary to inculcate a positive personality and healthy attitudes towards interactions between peers, students of the opposite sex as well as teachers and adults.
The school seeks the active support and cooperation of the parents in maintaining the high disciplinary standards that will ultimately benefit the child. |
